At different levels, young Africans across the continent are increasingly investing in the development of their people and community. An example is Ms Selam, popularly called Mrs Selam by her ‘children’.
She graduated from Hawassa University with a degree in Engineering in 2017. She worked for one year and saved all her earnings. In 2018, she opened Mother’s Choice Kindergarden in her hometown of ቢሾፍቱ (Bishoftu) also called ደብረ ዘይት (Debra Zeyt). Her goal is to offer children purposeful education in a nurturing environment of care and love. To help them explore the world and develop their diverse talents. At 24 she is already an employer of 6 other equally passionate and committed teachers, each with a bachelor’s degree. Highly commendable.
