In Pursuit of The Trivials
As an interdisciplinary scholar, Augustine Agwuele integrates the conceptual rigors of theoretical linguistics with ethnographically grounded scholarship to address common and habitual practices which he terms "Trivials". His interest spans linguistics, socio-cultural anthropology, language and culture, and Peoples and Cultures of Africa. At its core, his works focus on making sense of variabilities associated with the encoding, transmitting and decoding of messages phonetically and intra-culturally as well as finding explanations for culturally informed responses to life's persistent concerns as unveiled by language use.
